About Lara Velasquez

1st Season

Lara Velasquez began dancing at the age of 3 in her hometown of Buffalo, New York before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 9 where she trained in all styles of dance at The Dance Source (formerly Adaptive Force Performing Arts). She began teaching and choreographing when she was a sophomore in high school.

Lara grew up dancing with Hollywood Connection and flourished after four years on the Teen Company, an experience that intensified her love of dance. She was fortunate enough to be selected as one of the Captains for the 2023 season. Her choreography can be seen in the 2021 Teen Company Nationals Opening Number as well as the 2023 Teen Company Converge performance. Lara also won Producer Icon of the Year at the 2024 National Finals.

Lara currently attends Chapman University in the Honors Program, where she majors in Dance and Biological Sciences. She has dreamed of working for Hollywood Connection for many years, and couldn’t be more excited to dance with everyone this season!
