About Hedy Perna

Hedy Perna and husband Patrick are celebrating their 25th year as Directors of the Perna Dance Center, a family owned and operated recreational dance studio in Hazlet, New Jersey.

As Artistic Director, Hedy’s credits include: Choreographer for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Founder of Dance Fest 6 Flags Great Adventure; Choreographer for UDMA Costume Preview Show; Founder/Director of the SunDance Festival aboard Carnival Cruise Lines; and choreographer and performer for a recent NBC/Oxygen Network media launch event.

Hedy is active in dance organizations that promote the education of both teachers and students. She is Past President of Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey and a member of Dance Educators of America. Hedy enjoys networking and sharing with fellow dance educators and has presented for several organizations including Rhee Gold’s Project Motivate and DanceLife Teacher Conference, Dance Teacher Summit, United Dance Merchants of America and various other events. Ms. Perna is also a contributing writer for Dance Studio Life Magazine and has developed a line of teaching aids for studio owners which include various manuals, dvds and Performance Spacing Blocks under the name of DanceLady CEO.

However, her greatest passion still is working in the classroom with her students and spending quality time with her husband and teenage daughter, Liza.
